Audi A4 Avant Quattro 3.0TDI - Black
Merry Christmas from Finland!
It was a time to polish another B8 Audi. This time it was metallic black one. I really like the design of this car. :thumb: The model year is 2009 and the car belongs to my co-worker. And d*mn it was a fight (with the car, not with the co-worker)!
Scratches/surface:
The usual swirls, but not so many deep scratches. At this point I thought this will be a piece of cake. How wrong I was...:wall:
Pads and compounds:
I try to express this as short as I can. The Audi won. I tried about a trillion combo, but still...
I just wasn't able to get all the swirls off. The swirls that refused to get off, were pretty strange large curvy ones, looking like they were done with an eraser
. I worked for 22 hours and did it in 2-steps, and I ended up into a conclusion that I should have done it in 3-steps. And the first step should have been very raw! But this was the time I had with it so, couldn't do it. After all, the car became pretty good, so maybe next time!
Sealing and finishing
The owner wanted Wolf's Chemicals Nano Paint Sealant Hard Body on it.
Unfortunately I have only closeup pics of the outcome, because it was snowing outside and we left the car in the garage over night to let the Hard Body dry properly.

1) Pre-wash
- Polaric Nox-Wax
- Bilt-Hamber Autofoam
2) Wash
- Bilt-Hamber Autofoam
- 2BM + microfiber mitt
- AutoGlym Intensive Tar Remover
- Wolf's Chemicals Deironizer Decon Gel
3) Polishing
- FLEX PE14-2 + Scholl Concepts Lambs Wool Fast Cutting pad / Lake Country CCS yellow cutting pad + Menzerna PF2500
- FLEX XC 3401 VRG + Lake Country CCS white polishing pad + Menzerna PF2500
4) LSP
- Wolf's Chemicals Nano Paint Sealant Hard Body
5) Others
Tyres:
- Meguiar's Gold Class Endurance Tyre Gel
