Post

Today it was a time to give a detail to my E60, which has served me well last 5 months including lots of highway driving.

I did a full detail at summer and now it needed just a light polish. It still took the whole day (8h) and I'm getting back tomorrow to give her some nice layers of wax. Too bad the highway driving had taken its toll and I found a small area at the very low part on the rear bumper that had lost some lacquer. Right behind the rear wheel. I'm going to fix that though.

The process was:

1) Pre-wash
- Korrek Lensitil BR Solvent Wash Spray
- Bilt-Hamber Autofoam

2) Wash
- Bilt-Hamber Autofoam
- Two bucket method + Meguiar's Sheepskin Mitts + mf mitt

3) Claying
- Zaino Z-18 clay
- Turtle Wax Big Orange as lubricant --> it was unnecessary, the clay stayed clean

4) Polish
- Lake Country CCA Black pad + Menzerna PO85RD Final Finish --> did a great job to remove the light hazing

----------------------------------------------------------------

Bilt-Hamber Autofoam in action:

After the wash and clay:

Under the halogens. Some very light marring especially on lower panels:

This little rub has developed by multiple accidental hits into a plastic trash bin in my garage .

Some hologramming revealed by the flash (sorry about the wrong white balance):

All in all, the defects were very light, and I hadn't noticed them in daylight or under the street lighting.

To be continued...

Taped for action:

Afters:

No more rub marks! I think I have to ditch that trash bin .

To be continued again...

I checked the paint with a LED torch too. It's a shark to reveal defects!

Leaving the garage, heading to sauna!

Nice day overall!
Heading back tomorrow to wax my baby and to do some other stuff... I'll take some pics and post them later.

Thanks for watching!
