My Ride: Bmw 530d 2004
Here we go...
I have wanted to get rid of heavy swirls and deep rids in my car for a long time. Few weeks ago after a magpie had made some more scratches on my hood I
decided to go for it...
I've been practising and learning machine polishing with a Flex XC 3401 VRG for some time. Now I had the confidence to do my own loved e60.
My washing methods should be ok, and the marring my car had was produced my previous owner and "a professional detailer" who sucked big time.
I took two weekends with the job because I didn't want to hurry and I could take that time with my car. Last week I took a bicycle everywhere I went. The car stayed in a garage. I managed to remove maybe 95% of swirls and rids. As you can see from the pictures, some of those rids were deep.
I hope I can maintain the good condition the paint now has for a long time.
I am very sorry I couldn't take any shiny pictures because of the full grey sky today.
The process was:
Wash:
- AutoGlym Clean Wheels
- Turtle Wax Dissolvent Wash Spray
- Turtle Wax Big Orange Carwash Shampoo
- Zaino Z-18 Claybar
- Turtle Wax Big Orange Carwash Shampoo
Correction/Polish:
- Flex XC 3401 VRG
- Presta Strata 1000 + Mirka White Foam Pad (Heavy polishing pad)
- Presta 1500 Polish + Flex White Foam Pad (Polishing pad)
- Presta Swirl Remover + Lake Country CCS White Pad (Polishing pad)
Wax + LSP:
- AutoGlym Super Resin Polish
- AutoGlym Liquid Hardwax
- Presta Spray N' Shine

Before (after wash):

The arsenal:
--------------------
Afters (not washed or waxed):

Thanks guys! Keep it coming...
I just read your thread. Amazing work! Makes me jealous... Even your environment is so "detailed"

Having just went through similar paint correction, I know what that takes. Great job!
