Alternatives to micro-fiber?
Check out these polishing cloths made from baby diaper material.

These are super soft and ready to use. $.67 each when purchased by the dozen. About $.62 a piece when 80 are purchased. If you call them, you can also purchase clean, used, super soft diapers for around $20 a dozen.
Also check out these 27"x27" old-fashioned 100% cotton birdseye 1 layer thick baby diapers.
These are great for all-around use, especially windows or for quick detailing. Two of the ends are edged so I cut them off so there would be even pressure when polishing or cleaning. Another thing good about them is that they can be folded about 6-8 times when being used.
Wash them 10 times with hot water/hot dryer to fuzz them up real good. It's great after using them to be able to use hot water with bleach and dry them in an extra hot dryer. They get softer the more you wash them.
Tip: When new, I washed them with my whites so I wouldn't waste water.
If you're really into micro-fiber, check out these DF Alpine concours, extra-soft towels.
They will be twice as soft as anything you've been using; they don't cling to anything you wash them with and get softer the more they're washed. If you drag them over the palm of your hand, they don't catch or feel scratchy. Wash these about 5 times before using to make them lint free. You can even dust your car with them.
Note: I have no interest (financial or otherwise) in the above companies.
