I wash it 1-2 times per week. In the summer, I do it by hand myself (including all polishing and detailing), but in the winter only 1 out of 4 washes per month involve me freezing my butt off washing it, and 3 out of 4 involve a "touchless" car wash. We have an "easy wash" nearby and it does a surprising good job and of course no contact with the car what so ever.

I rarely wash my own car ... only when it's a hot sunny day and I have nothing better to do. And considering this is the UK you can imagine how often that is. I take it to a local hand wash place whenever I'm passing. Sometimes twice a week, sometimes it can go 6 weeks without a wash. I buy silver cars because they don't show the dirt as badly. My last E60 once went 4 months without a wash.

Me too! The weather here's the same, so I can go up to 6 weeks without washing the car.

I wash it constantly, as I need to with Jet Black. I'm crazy with it. I think the most I've washed the car is 4 times in 1 week. However, washing it this many times requires me to layer on more coats of sealant or a protectant from time to time.

I wash my car by hand only - it's never seen the inside of a car wash. On average I wash my car once every 10 days ... I try to wash it once a week but don't always meet that schedule. However, I typically try to do one California Duster + quick detail spray (Zaino Z-6) in between washes.

The longest I've gone between washes is probably about 3 weeks ... the most frequent I've ever washed it is twice within one week (other than doing multiple washes during a full-on detailing).

Like C-Man says, a Jet Black car requires a lot of attention. Someone once commented here that "black is not a color, it's a hobby." Too true.

And, like a vacuum, a clean black car exists only in theory.

That's why this could be my last Jet Black BMW. I can't take it anymore. It's like a marriage with Black. It just won't leave you alone. There's always some dirt or smear mark, that of course, requires another hand wash. LOL!

I try and wash mine once a week, but sometimes it goes longer. Fortunately I don't have a black car! Been there, done that, and I am cured (after three times)!

That said, Space Gray shows more dirt and dust than my titanium silver E39 540 did, so more frequent washing is required. I have yet to run it through a touchless automatic wash, but a salty winter coating could change that.
