Where do you get it for $460? This is for the Avery product or 3M? Are you familiar with the LLumar product?

TIA

I got it from a guy here in Southern California. He's a mobile installer. Has a plotter that precuts the film to your car so he doesnt do any cutting on the car; did the installation in my garage. I wanted to go back to the one that did my MINI two years ago but he moved up to Northern Cali so I had to search for another guy.

$460 is for Avery film and I got a discount for it cause I had 3 other co-workers who got their cars done by him at the same time. (*within a week*) so he gave me a discount. else its $500 I think.

I'm not familiar with the Llumar product besides their tint which is pretty good but personally of the two I have now I prefer the 3M its holding up really well. But of course I dont have enough time to really judge the Avery one yet as its only been on for a little less than 2 months so its still perfect at this time. it is a little thinner than the 3M which can be a good thing and a bad thing. Good, its less noticable but I dont know if it protects just as well. So far its doing its job... no damages. If you are familiar with the 710 and the trucks that travel on that freeway you'll know. Not sure if theres another freeway thats worse than this one with trucks and rocks.

Had mine done when I picked up the car last week by the dealer. Bumper, hood and mirrors - 695.00 and worth every penny!

I did get a chip through mine (right between the kidneys) a while back.
Everything else is fine... Except that it is yellowing. Easy to notice on the white. I'm going to see if the dealer will replace it.

That's good - I think a lot of the guarantees are meant to cover peeling and yellowing. The newer 3M film is said to be more resistant on both counts.

I had mine installed on Monday - they did a beautiful job - they do all the cars at Ferrari / Maseratti of Washington as well as for several BMW dealerships in the area. Can't say enough about them. They have nationwide support and warranty coverage which sounds pretty good:

Do you guys use the same type of film for both the headlamps and bonnet/bumper? I heard there is a slightly thicker one for the headlamps.

It depends what you want to do and what your installer wants to do. My installer used the same film. Another installer that did my MINI used thicker film on the headlamps there.

Ne one knows what is the best way to cut the shape of the bumper with a roll of 3M PPF other than tracing it out the hard way?

I personally think a self cut job would be very difficult and even if you were close would not look so good. Pay and have the computer cut stuff installed. Mine was 695.- through the dealer for the hood, bumper and mirrors. Wish I would of had the headlights done also, just a thought.

Dont try to cut it yourself.. pay and have someone cut it on a plotter, trust me.
