Was going to Pocono and had a decision to make. Go there with a dirty or clean car. Couldn't stand the car being so dirty. So I decided to take it to the car wash. Wasn't "Hand wash" and the track curbed my rear wheel. https://5series.net/forums/public/st...fault/fcuk.gif https://5series.net/forums/public/st...t/bashwall.gif I've been to many of these and no damage to the wheels. Until this one. I know I shouldn't go to these types of car washes. Had a bad feeling to begin with. Now I have to bring it to the wheel repair and get it refinished and either paint or powdercoat the wheel. Lesson learned. The hard way. So if anyone ever come to this decision, look around for a "Hand Wash" or drive dirty. https://5series.net/forums/public/st...fault/grin.gif

I feel your pain. Sorry to hear that. This is one of things that upsets me the most about a car is when you curb a wheel and you know you could have avoided it. I think I've been parking a foot away from curbs since I got my new car.

My place has rails and I've never had an issue with any of my wheels. Granted, it's a new system and is well guarded with bright, yellow plastic all the way down to the end. Even my rear 315's on my X fit nice and easy in the track. Many high end cars use this place, but I never go to any of the dumpy looking ones that have rails that look like they just came off the LIRR station at Jamaica.

Sorry to hear that D/K.

Yeah I tend to park a foot away from the curb now. I just dont want to curb my rims again, especially after just having them refurb'd.

What?!? Damn man... sorry to hear that happen. You should go to this handwash spot in flushing queens, $25 bucks with tip for wash and vacuum inside. Its a great place. Let me know if u need details for it.

+1 - Tires are just too small for the wheels and stretched. the wheel lips are exposed and (obviously) more prone to getting scratched.

The tires even have a built-in raised rubber edge along rim to protect the wheel, but stretched fitment pulls the tire too far back to work.
