Because its the only full size car with a soul! The E38 had one, but then the Terminator took over and the new 7 became an uber comfortable techno loaded brick of a luxobarge. I'm 6'6" and had an 01' 7 but I fell asleep whenever I drove the E65 even w/sport package (not on test drives, rather over long trips with friends' cars). So I got a 550i sport. The point I want to make here is that the QP is not for everyone, and I think that may be why its selling well. Warning BMW - stick to what made you famous. It wasn't luxury and a plush ride.

Anyone else have a few pennies to toss in....?

I might pick a QP over an M5. You need money and knowledge. I know several 7 owners who do not even know a QP when they see it. It is a different league of ownership. The car is far more expensive to own and maintain. But it has returned to these shores after a 15 year sabbatical. Sales have only one direction to go, UP. Awareness is slowly growing and heck its a Ferrari with 4 doors for half the price.

Very Very true statement "Warning BMW - stick to what made you famous. It wasn't luxury and a plush ride".
That also includes the Real V8 Engines which were in the previous models, not the valvetronic, software operated junks, that crash, create hesitations, and an overall headache. If i was THAT concious about gas consumption, i would get a Toyota Prius.

Agree, I'd have a QP over an M5 in a heartbeat. A beautiful, fabulous car - which as others have said has passion and soul.

I totally agree about the current 7. I intended to get a 750i sport. but it was just too soft and non responsive. Way too much on the luxury side of things. Might as well get a lexus. Instead I ended up ordering the 09 550i sport. The Maser QP is very sweet, but out of my price range
