I just bought 2007 525i from a dealar, It has 46K miles on it. I want to know what things are covered under BMW 50K miles factory warranty. So that , if I feel something not good , I can replace that from dealar.

You should still have the free maintenance too correct? Then go get everything checked out, better to catch something now than at 51K miles right?

What should I ask to dealar?
That I need regular checkup or what?

Essentially, yeah, any little squeak, squeal, rattle, or buzz that your car makes that makes it feel less than perfect. Get it checked out before the warranty is up. I would, I have a 2005 that i got CPO so have warranty and maint until 04/11 or 100K miles, you bet my car will visit them often in Feb and March of 11 and btween 90-100K miles. Even though I will reach teh date of expiration before the miles (I just passed 50K)

Anything and everything except for tires is covered. If the dealer gets bitchy about it, bitch back. They'll fix it eventually. If they still refuse, give BMWNA a call and they'll take care of you. Have every little detail you can fixed before it becomes a problem

You need to verify in-service date; Many 2007's were actually put in service in 2006 and your warranty is 4 years (from in-service date) or 50K miles whichever comes first.

Based on iDrive condition based service requirements you should check that every scheduled service has been completed. Verify that against BMW's maintenance and warranty records for your specific car. Some dealers are not as cooperative in providing those records but the Service Advisor (SA) should check the record and advise what has or has not been completed.

Those checks and services include oil service, brake wear condition, brake system and coolant flush, micro filter replacement, windshield wiper blade replacement - if they streak, emission checks, and so on. Battery life is a problem with these cars; see if yours was ever replaced.

Lastly, there are owner's manuals in the information section of this forum. If you don't have one - download it now.

Good luck with your new car.

Even interrior trim and other components are covered. I had some trim peaces replaced under the warranty because they were worn out and peeling.

Actually tire related maintenance like wheel balance and alignment are not covered under maintenance or warranty...on a new vehicle you have something like 60 or 90 days.

My 2007 was actually delivered to me in May 06. So my maintenance warranty (and bmw roadside assist) expire next May.

I am still on the fence as to what I will do regarding extended coverage plans.

Pretty much everything is covered. I'd look for sunroof wind noise, any fallen piece of trim, any scuff marks on the leather or the steering wheel. Look for water stains, squeaks, groans, any smell of burnt rubber. look for the dreaded transmission slam and insist on replacement, if your car exhibits the problem. I'd listen for clunks from the suspension and maybe have a third party do a complete check of the suspension and undercarriage. I wouldn't ask the dealer to perform this as they may not be motivated to find deep-rooted problem unless you point them out. G/L
