For those of you in the bay area, peninsula specifically, where do you get your car serviced after your warranty has expired? Going to the dealer is ridiculously expensive so i was wondering if there was an independent car shop that is reliable and relatively cheap around the area. Thanks.

If you don't mind traveling up a little north, I recommend Bavarian Professionals in Berkeley. Since my car is still under warranty, I haven't had a chance with them to repair anything, but i had used them to replace and install new tires. Professional service with no scratches on the rims and they only service BMWs. Whilst their prices may not be cheap, I believe their rates are much more competitive and reasonable than the dealer's.

Thanks, that does help out. In fact i'm looking into purchasing a used 545i right now, and one of the main deciding factors would be what happens once the warranty expires. Other thoughts from those around the area regarding this matter are appreciated
