Just got my car back from Sanspeed in bexleyheath, they had it from 8am to 4.30pm as the software took this long to update!
Total cost was ?115.
If anyone needs this done, look them up as they were the cheapest i found!

Bal. Thanks for this post. Sanspeed are local to me, and that is a damn cheap price - been looking to get an upgrade so I can get MP3's to work.
However, I'm worried they may 'overwrite' my autofold mirror update - which I had added as a retrofit by B&W chiptune........any thoughts.........do these guys know what's what when it comes to programming the E60 ??

Guys, i don't have the folding mirror option on mine, but ask for Graham!
He knows what he's talking about. I told him i would put their details on here so just say the guy who told you he'd tell everyone on the e60 forum sent you his way.

My software update only cost me ?80+VAT at my dealer, Menzies in Stirling. The update was done within 2.5 hours.

ITts difficult for me to believe it too that long to update the software. This would only happen if you really do not know what the hell you are doing!
2.5 hours sounds more realistic.

He told me the system estimated 2hrs, but it crashed a number of times, and 1 of the modules took a few attempts before it took the update! there were twenty something updates in total

Presumably it depends on the extent of the update required. For instance if your current software is only about a year old, then surely that will take less time to update than say my car, which is a 2004 model.

You do benefit from cheaper labour rates than those of us in London.
