I have just ordered LCI 535D from a UK Dealer; he has invoiced ?300 UK Road Tax, I understood that the emmission levels on the LCI were lower than previous 535D which would take it into a lower band .... Does anyone know the correct tax band?

?300 isnt right , it should be a lot less than that. And you are correct the emmissions on the new LCI models is lower.

That definitly sounds too high, especially with the reduced emissions from the LCI. You can find the most current tax rates here: http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/Motoring/Ownin...cle/DG_10012524

Yup, definitely wrong. Even the 'old' 535d was never in the top band! It's gone from a F to E rating... (Rated at 182 g/km) Should be ?165...

Thanks for that; the BMW literature for LCI 535D quote C02 emissions (g/km) as 182 I will call the dealer

Yes, they do try it on. Have heard of one other guy who already got a partial refund.

Biggest problem is that the news of the lower CO2 are supposedly not recognised by DVLA, yet. Seems to be a lack of information on part of BMW.
The dealers ain't got a clue, either.

Even my pre LCI with 211 g/km was "only" 205,- ? for the renewal. Not 100% sure, but after the latest rises, I think yours should be 165,-
Kick up some stink at the dealers and write to UK customer support. It might save the same trouble for people coming after you

The LCI 535d is band E (182g/km), that's ?165 per year.

My dealer had no problem taxing my car for the right amount, so there's no reason why yours should! To be charitable, perhaps someone wasn't thinking and taxed it as a 540 or 550, or maybe they misread the form and taxed it as a 335? All are in the ?300 band.

Call the dealer and tell them to train their staff!
