Well based on the limited responses (not supprised now looking at teh results) the insurance is a lot cheaper than i thought, although everyone so far has 5yr no claims (wonder if that makes a big difference?)
Many thanks to those taking part in the poll.

My Ride: 535d M Sport, with DMS upgrade, 19 inch wheels
Just renewed my policy last week. 4 years no claims, age 43, 3 points on licence, DMS re-map, live in Kent (Whitstable) and car kept on private driveway, Privilege car insurance ?442. I thought that was a great price! next best was around the ?550 mark.

5 yrs no-claims usually means you save 60-65% of the premium. So if the premium with 5 years no-claims is ?500 it will be approx. ?1,400 with none - so it can make quite a difference!
What insurance companies normally do is:
1 year: 30%
2 years: 10% off the 1 year NCB premium
3 years: 10% off the 2 year
4 years: 10% off the 3 year
5 years+: 5% off the 4 year
total: 51.5% - not 65%. I think this should go under the Trades Descriptions Act as fraudulent , but never mind. The basic premium still ends up above ?1000.

Ah-ha - there is a nice little marketing catch, here. Actually, the no-claim discount is just over 50%!

i am with saga 2 years new car replacement. unlimited europe travel (not 1 month) in multitrip.max nc discount 3 points almost gone .57 years old with spouse named.................?430
garaged no commuting.
only went for the 2year new car replacement and eu cover. very complex getting qoutes that actually compete on a level ground.
no tracker specified by saga.
bmw ins wanted tracker...............fitted!
so why isnt it fitted as standard? instead of assist nonesense.
