My Ride: 2005 545, Titanium Gray II, 6 Spd, CWP, Sat, LPP Laser Defense, V1 (hard-wired), iPod, 38% ceramic tint, CDV delete, H&R Street Performance Coil Overs, Forced Air Induction, DriveData Pro Camera System (4 cams), M5 Front Bumper
That is high. BMW NA is offering 3% APR on the X5's atm.
3 year lease? If so, I'd lean toward the 550, but that sounds way high for payments.
FYI, I'm paying $973/month on a 2 year / 15k miles lease on my 545. Most options but no nav. I paid 4% over invoice.
Is your price quote a negotiated price or is that MSRP? Sounds high to me (but what do I know!)?

One more thing... I'm getting nearly 20 mpg on my 545. I test drove a 530 and got 23 mpg around town. For that no-thanks, I'll take the 3 mpg hit and extra bucho horsepower. No brainer IMHO.
Only exception is if you drive mostly highway, but then why would you lease?

I would go with a 2005 545i. The money factor is only 0.001(2.4%) compared to the 550's 0.00260(6.24%) a whopping difference when considering a lease payment.
You should be able to get a 545i for no more than $1000 over invoice.

Good post. I didn't realize the money factors are so different between the 545 and 550. That explains why "my" loaded 545 was only 740 a month. I would think in a few months BMW would give the same special rate to the 550, no?
Here in Southern California, I was able to get a year ago, fairly easily, 1500 over invoice. It should even be better now that the 545 is a lame duck.

No.? That lease rate was to help sell end-of-product-life 545i before 550i came out.

I would go with either a dealer inventoried '05 545(maybe you get a lower payment) or the 550i...Trust me, if you go with the 530i you will be happy with it until you take a 545 or 550 for a drive - then you will be kicking yourself with regret...Cut back on your phone bill(switch to an unlimited VOIP service), cable bill, or another monthly expense to get the extra $$ for the higher payment...You won't regret it..

Sorry guys for not responding, we we hit by the Hurrican Wilma na dhad not light or internet. Well have not yet decided and driving a loaner as the hurricane came over the weekend and had no opportunity to return the loaner :-) I have passed a couple times to the dealership and they are closed (seems they dont have power there yet) I'm eager to pikcup my new car now..
the term offered is for 36months $2600 discount and 59% residual with 0.00260 MF (6.34%).. there is nothing better from BMW yet unless a new rate is released in a few days in november.. anyway can not hold this loaner that long and my car is at the dealership..need to pick up something and i kicked my self in the rear end last time i bought my 530 andf then test drove the 545.. that was a night and day difference....
I heart these v8s are great in gas, i drive a mixed of highway and city driving and average 19.8 in my 530 because i press the gas a bit too much to get the car moving, i think with the 550 i would not need to do that as i noticed on a test drive the ar escalated to 80mh without noticing and barely tapping the accelerator...wao
and for the one that said i need a house, i have a house already (5300SQF with 7 rooms), i dont think I need more room
Also people mentioned a 545 because the rates are ridiculous low, THERE ARE NOT %$%s LEFT IN SOUTH FLORIDA..
i test drove this 550 before the hurricane came and is damn fast... i was with 3 people in the car test driving, and old 330 tried pulling on me and left him in the dust barely pressing the gas, then a carrera 4S noticed me behind him, black smoked came out of his exhaust and he could not pull away taht was for about 5 secs or so then we had to exit to turn around and the guys kept turning his head to see what kind of car that was he could not pull away..i just had a huge smile..
