I have the sport package with the 545i and last night I wanted to see what it could do because I've had the thing for 3 weeks now and haven't really pushed it, I took a 25 mph corner at 75, and I was scared out of my mind, but I didn't have anything to worry about, there was no over or understeer, nothing, the car seemed to hold better the faster I went, simply incredible. This is my first BMW and after last night I will never drive another car.....get the sport package it is definately worth the excitement.

Yep--the active roll stabilization is incredible. With the active sway bars, you get a nice, comfortable ride when going straight--and when cornering hard, they stiffen up and there's so little body roll it's amazing for a 2 ton sedan--the best of both worlds!

Little,

Thought you might like an opinion form across the pond!

Go for the sport man, the car looks sooooo much better with it. It really is worth the additional cost, and IMO a 'no brainer'.

You won't regret it, believe me.

It all depends on what kind of driving experience you want, and how much money you want to spend.? If you want a pretty fast luxury sedan with a comfy ride, and handling is secondary, I'd say the sport package isn't for you--and probably a BMW 545i isn't worth it either.?

As someone without the sports package, I'll have to take exception to this comment. Even without the sports package, my 545 handles better than any other car I have driven. Is handling better with the sports package? Sure, but to say that handling is secondary is a bit extreme to me. Makes ths issue a bit too black and white. And I can tell you, a 545 without the sports package is absolutely worth it!

Wow... I've been too much of a coward yet to take any corners at a high speed in my 545i. I don't have much experience in high-performance driving so I'm skeptical of my ability to judge how far I can push a corner before skidding out. When I test drove a Boxster the salesman practically had to beg me to speed up in the corners...

I went through a similar thought process. 85% to 90% of my driving is on the highway and the ones around here aren't in the best of shape. I figured I'd trade the better ride for the majority of my driving against the very few times I get to push hard on the back roads. For me, straight line acceleration is far more important. That said I'll probably try a sport next time, but to say a 545 without the sport isn't worth it is wrong - different, but still worth it depending on your preference. Plus, with the lease deals right now, the 2005 545's are well worth it whether you go sport or not.

Well couldn't think of a better way to spend an extra 3,005 bucks for the ZSP! (US invoice)

Maybe a set of 24 inch rims?

I love having the sport package I would not even consider not getting it if I was buying another E60
