My Ride: My 5 and I met on Father's Day 2008 and have been together ever since. 20" Wheels (Make TBD), premium package, sport package, AiB V3 upgrade and a Passport Escort 8500 Radar Detector.
I am recently without warranty and I'm looking for a dealer (service) alternative here in SoCal. Does anyone have an honest place with a good reputation that does brakes and oil changes? If the place is really good, I'll go anywhere in L.A. County and or Orange County. Maybe further...

I highly recommend a place called Suspension Plus off Crown Valley and the 5. I have been there twice, once for a 4 wheel alignment and once for an oil change, and both times I was VERY impressed with not only the prices and speed of service, but the way they treat you, they are all SO nice - it is a pleasure for me to be in the waiting area when my car is on the lift.
The contact details are here - at least call and get a quote, that's how I found them (They do specialize in German cars)

Just got my oil changed @ a place called Long Beach Autohaus on Broadway. The people were very friendly and the price was good (better). The dealer (Long Beach BMW) quoted me something outrageous like $380 for an oil change that most likely included some other inspections/services. I shopped around and found a place called Steve's BMW Service in Redondo Beach that quoted me $200. Ended up @ the Autohaus where they got me for $140.
Now I start shopping around for brake service...

I'm on the same boat as you. My warranty ran out a few months ago and I need brake service and maybe an oil change. No way am I taking it to the dealer, prices are outrageous. I will look around for a good german service center around north OC. I will let you guys know how it goes.
