Hey everyone,

I got in an accident about a month ago, and finally brought my car into the shop for repair 2 weeks ago. It was promised to me this past friday, and subsequently promised to me each day after that to no avail. As of now, the repair shop I took it to (not a BMW dealer/service center) said that he was finishing up the repair and replaced the passenger headlight and it wasn't working. He then told me that the airbag light had also come on in the car for some reason.

They took it to the BMW dealer and service center about 10 minutes away to have them reset the computer or something. Given this situation, does anyone have any idea how long a simple repair like this might take to complete?

I don't have rental reimbursement on my coverage and I have already had my rental for 2 weeks. If this is a lengthy repair (I don't see why it would be) , i would prefer just picking up my car now and bringing it in with a guaranteed appointment so I can finally take this rental back.

Any help, info, or opinions are appreciated!

Thanks,

Matt

Changing a headlight takes 15 minutes. Clearing an airbag light takes a few seconds. This is assuming of course there is nothing wrong with any of the airbags and they are all getting a constant power supply.
So what exactly is this guy doing? Airbag lights do not just turn on by themselves...

Using the correct tools this should take approximatly 1 minute if that. It takes me a few minutes to remote into a customer's car and do the diagnosis and repair on the airbag light if it's not an actual fault. It may even disappear after a few days if it's not a fault, what kind of accident were you in buddy?

I hit a speed sign swerving out the way of a deer. With some aftermarket parts, it was $5000 in total. My PDC doesn't work now, and I also have an oil leak that my shop couldn't determine where it was coming from. Terrible luck with this car so far
