My Ride: '05 545i - scheduled for ED pickup in Munich on 7/22!

The past 3 times I brought my car to the dealer:

1) Do the NY Emissions inspection - got a car wash
2) Pop out a dent - got a car wash
3) Maintenance (oil, filter, etc) - no car wash

You think they simply forgot to wash my car after the oil change?
Do they only wash the car if I spent money? (i.e. the 1st and 2nd times, not the 3rd)

What does your dealer do?

I think it's a matter how much work they got to do at that day...

Full wash and vac every time my car visits the dealer (and in the good old days you got a tin of sweets as well)

Full wash everytime I've been to the dealer. Had to decline once since I was in a hurry to get out. They also wash the wheels everytime I go in for changing from summer to winter and back.

I just got my car from the dealer, and even though it was washed from the outside, it was really filty inside! And that is given it was detailed inside before I dropped it at the dealer! Not a happy camper!

I get full wash and vac every time I go - no matter the reason.

I normally get a free wash...however, what bugs me about the dealership where I service my car (San Diego BMW--owned by the Penske Group) is that they now charge me $20 for a loaner car--and I do not necessarily get a BMW as a loaner (was given a Toyota last time). I have never heard of this before and think it is tacky for a BMW dealership to ask its customers to share in the burden of providing a loaner car.

My dealership is very good about washing BMWs when taken in for service.....HOWEVER, I have a standing request that they NEVER wash my car!! I've seen the lot guys, and they clearly don't care for my car/paint the way I do. With a darker color like mine, it doesn't take much to end up with light scratches or swirl marks. I don't know what kind of towels they use, or if they drop them on the pavement and then continue to use them......and....I guess I'm just a bit anal about how my car gets cleaned!!
