If you are in New Jersey, BMW's two east coast shippers are Wallenius Wilhelmsen and K-Line. The ships leave from Bremerhaven, Germany and arrive in either Charleston, SC or the Northeast Auto Marine Terminal (NEAT) at the New Jersey Marine Terminals. I don't know if you being in Jersey automatically means your vehicle goes to NEAT, but I'd guess it would.

To find the WW ships leaving Germany, you can look up the schedules here:

http://schedule.2wglobal.com/AppSche...countryList.do

Select "Germany" for origin country and "USA" for destination, and then Bremerhaven and either Charleston or New York (? - I don't see NEAT or New Jersey specifically listed). You'll then see the ships leaving.

For K-Line, it's pretty much the same thing:

http://206.103.2.35/sailingSchedules/home

However, you WILL NOT know what ship your car will be on until your dealer tells you - and even if you see some ships leaving in the next couple days, there is no guarantee your car will be on any of them. The car could sit at the port for as much as 5 to 7 days. Once your car is at the port and loaded onto the ship, your dealer has ALL of the most detailed, updated, accurate information (not BMWNA Customer Relations).

If your car goes on a WW ship, it can be tracked by VIN here:

http://schedule.2wglobal.com/AppTracking/s...?trackType=Auto

K-Line does not allow tracking to my knowledge.

There are numerous other ways to track the ship's progress once you know which ship it is using various Coast Guard and ocean weather sites. Search the forums for "tracking" to see the threads that have talked about this at length. To sum up, you need to get the ship's callsign from its name on this site:

http://cgmix.uscg.mil/PSIX/PSIX2/VesselSearch.asp

Then, you can look for that callsign using either:

http://www.oceanweather.com/data/ (click the region, in this case, the Atlantic Ocean, and then click "Marine Observations" and look for the ship's callsign)

or

http://www.sailwx.info/shiptrack/ (though this site has been down recently when I have checked it...)

The wait is the worst! My car is at the port too, but I have no idea what ship it will be on. Then again, even when it does get on a ship, it's still 3-4 weeks before I'll see it! If you have a 550 SMG and it's already at the port, I'm guessing you were probably Week 40 production, like mine, so we're probably going to be waiting about the same amount of time...maybe a little quicker for you, though, since you're in New Jersey!

I've got a 550i waiting at port for a shipping vessel too - headed to Charleston, SC. I've been checking WW website 2 to 3 times a day now just to figure which ship it is on. I thought it would be on the Jingu Maru yesterday, but, no. What a dissapointment. Your right - the wait is pretty bad right now especially now that you know your car is built.

Didn't know about K-Line though....

Please reply if you get info on which vessel yours is on. Mine may very well be on that vessel too.

Do you know what your production date/week is?? Mine is Sept/week 39, thought that mine too would be on the Jingu Maru. Perhaps it is on K-Line, had never even heard of that until I saw das' information! Can't stand not knowing what ship my car is on!

I was informed by BMWNA that it finalized production Oct. 7th. Not exactly sure what build week it is in, but not too far off from yours. From reading the material on these forums, it takes no longer than a week to get it shipped once it is "awaiting transport." We'll see.

Forgive me for being trivial but I have this vision of prospective e60 owners standing around the shores of the USA looking out to sea for ships, why not wait, in my experience you won't get it until the dealer say's so
