I have 16,000 miles on my 545....but there is no service light going on....is anything wrong?? My previous bmw (X5) needs servicing after 15,000 miles....and I have never changed my oil either....sounds strange....In my cayenne I changed oil every 10,000 miles....is anything wrong?

when you start your car, there's a count down of miles on the display, what does it say?

Did you also check your iDrive to see if you are due for a service?

I don't know whether we have this on our E60...in the MB system, the car will monitor the oil quality and only advise to change when required. If you drive mostly highway, then you can go longer without oil change....

Yup on the bottom screen, you can also check it in the iDrive and it does vary with different driving condition as suggested. If your iDrive say ok then is fine. But you can always ask your dealer and they might change your oil before is due sometimes.

There is a countdown timer... look for it. BUT there have been cases where the countdown timer doesnt work and gets stuck at a certain milage... so I would look into it if I were you. I'll see if I can pull up the thread to that.

The iDrive should tell you the miles you have left before maintance, brakefluids, brakepads, cooling liquid etc.

Anyway, it doesn't harm your car if you take it in for a sercive right now!
With 16,000 miles you car should be do anyway.
