My Ride: On Order as of May 6- 2007 530i Titanium Grey and Grey Leather, with Sport Package, Premium Pkg, Cold Pkg. 2006 Porsche Boxster
Default

Ok... I am a new member to this site. I have ordered my 530i last Saturday with the Sport, Premium and Cold weather package in Titanium Grey. (my dealer hates me due to the number of calls I make wanting to know where my car is )

I was a bit unsure of the M Aero kits knowing they could be added later.

Should I add this option? Any thoughts? Regrets?

If you want to add it, add it now. Don't wait until your car comes in. In any case, the paint job at the factory or distribution center is guaranteed and you don't have to go searching for a good painter. Less worries if you order them with the car instead of afterward. Congrats.

It's a must have! It should be part of the sport kit. I'm sure if you get it you won't regret it, but if you don't you will. Trust those of us that spent the extra money, It makes the E60 stand out.

Just went through that decision making process this week! I printed out pictures of E60s with and without the kit. I personally like the looks of the M aero kit. As an experiment I showed the pictures around to family and a few close friends. I did not tell them which was which. I just asked which they thought looked better. No hesitation at all. Every one picked the M aero kit as better looking.

Ultimately it is a personal decsion. Is it worth an extra ~$3800. I went with the M aero kit. Called the dealer this week to add the kit at the VPC. Dealer quoted $3250 + $505 for the M spoiler installed at VPC. You probably can have it done for less after you take delivery but will have to find a good place to get the work done. I decided to take delivery with it complete. That way if anything goes wrong it is covered.

Very subjective - however, IMHO, I think it looks best on Mystic Blue and Black colors. I'm not a fan of it on Titanium Gray however (my second favorite color BTW).

Is the sky blue... yes go for the kit IMO . You can add it on for VPC or frankly, doing it aftermarket does not have to be a hassle. Nearly all of the body shops affiliated/owned by the BMW dealerships in my area can do a good job at a reasonable price. Joing BMWCCA and get an immediate 10% of parts/service for the kit at the dealership or go and order it cheap from Garry at Newport BMW and have the dealer/body shop do the rest.

All depends. I like it and would have gone for it if I was planning to keep the car longer. But for a 24 month lease it's hardly worth it.

give your salesperson a break...i believe there is a way to track your car on the ship its coming over on. i know others have done it here. take a look at the search function on the forum.

...and yes on the m kit
