how much did they give you for your trade in? I think that's a bit high considering it has no nav.

 

The list price on the car is $34k so they are giving me $10k for my TL ($10952 including tax savings).

I offered them $25300 out the door and they declined.

 

Don't really know how much your TL is worth currently but it seems like they're giving you a nice deal on your TL to offset the the price of the 535. At least that's what a friend of mine who works as a car salesman told me, dealer's tactic. Entice you with the high trade in price to keep you there.

Good luck but you should really consider the nav feature though. Not that I really use my nav that much but it makes it look much better interior wise.

 

How does it look different? iDrive with and without navigation look different?

I prefer navigation but this color/feature combo is very hard to find so I can live without navi. My iPhone can do that for me.

 

BTW, KBB says this car is worth $37,555.

 

$34k sounds about right for a 36k miles CPO. Why don't you consider those with low miles (<15k) non-cpo?

 

Well I've spent 4 months looking for the right car. I know that this combination is rare so it makes it a little harder to let it pass.

Finding a 2008 with low miles is probably hard to find as well. I probably can't afford anything newer than the 2008s anyway. Don't want to get too greedy with financing etc.

BMX, what do you think about the deal on the table? I've talked to other car sales guys and it seems like there's a huge flood of used 2004-2006 Acura TLs in the market right now, which is why the dealerships are offering less.

 

OP: What I meant to say is that you are paying too much for the "CPO" part. Have you checked the actual delivery date of the car? The CPO warranty is 6 yrs, and chances are the delivery date is in 2007, so you have less than two years on the CPO left. Unless you are planning to drive this a "lot", paying a 12k premium for driving 60000 miles in 2 years is very steep.

If I were you, I would look for a more driven 2008 CPO (which would be cheaper) or a less driven non-CPO. It would make the deal more worth your $. For example, I picked up a 08 535xi/no-nav more than a year ago with 50kish miles, plus an extended warranty, plus an extended maintenance for 30k without a tradein. At that point, I was considering 40-50k miles CPOs and they were priced around $36k.

Finally, kbb usually overstates CPO prices by a LOT. I just got a 2007 x3 CPO for over 7k less than the kbb price. Have you done a unrestricted-area seach on bmw-usa to check nationwide pricing? CPO 535i starts around 28k for a similar car (31k miles, no-navi, cold/premium/sport package) to what you are looking for and goes up.


I can't say about the trade-in price of your TL, no experience what so ever on that front.
