some after thoughts:
the turn signal indicators took me some time to get used to, either i flash too much or keep getting into the way of the cruise control lever.
bmw assist is finally functioning properly, took some time to setup the initial connection. they are talking to you via satellite whereas the 911 emergency utilises the emergency channel of regular cell service in your area.

As far as I know, BMWAssist does not use any satellites for communication -- just a regular cellular system. (Not sure if it's TDMA, or CDMA but for sure it can fall back to analog.) The dealer simply pre-programs an 800 number that it needs to dial. It is possible to be in an area that doesn't have cell coverage -- if so, you'll see the signal strength meter drop and you won't have BMWAssist in that area.
Enjoy the new ride!

thanks for the heads up rudy.
silver grey seems to look different in different lighting situations. they are all the same around the world. one of those magical bmw colours that have a mood of its own.

My Ride: 04 545A Dynamic Drive Pkg (Active Steering; Active Stabilization) Sport Pkg, Premium Sound, CD Changer, Rain sensor wipers, Red Rear reflectors
I did a search on Toronto and turned up a few interesting posts....dating back a few months.
I was about to order the rear reflectors from Bekkers but will try the local parts dept first...
Yes, the Toronto BMW building is very nice... like a giant toy store
See you, Rolle..and Toronto545 on the streets of Toronto...some day.

Great pics Rollee. I was wondering are the reflectors standar on canadian E60s, just notices that all E60s had em on in the showroom.

Hi there!
great looking car! Are the adaptive lights really noticable?
I'm thinking of adding it to my option list....

DVBert:
YES, they are noticeable! Just feels kind of weird at first. Really takes awhile to get used to.

my 530i has the 545i ''look'. chrome grills were ordered seperately as an additional option.
trunk net is a gift from my dealer, very nice but have yet to go fishing.

I was going to ask about the chromed vertical vanes on the grill, as I thought those were only on the 545. I am just trying to be able to distinguish them on the road, and I thought that was the rule.

I've got the chrome grills too on my 530. Not trying to pose as a 545 but I just like the look of the chrome grills way better then the dull black ones..
