I was told, if the stars are aligned right, we could have our 545i by the first week of November.

Congratulations, this is one best decisions you have ever made.? When I purchased mine, my wife said that is the worst decision that I have ever made.? ?

How did you get the European Reflectors. I totally dig the clear vs. the ambier color front. Did you buy them after-market?

This was my responce, I forgot to log in.? BMWin14RSM

Michael
I got the rear bumper reflectors from my BMW dealership, both were $36.00. Actually the front clear lights came stock. As CRRobert said, they will be more expensive if you have adaptive headlights if you decide to change them.

Welcome to the board.

Well I hope our 545i gets here soon. Kim got in an accident in the Suburban this morning. Thank god for a big car. No one was hurt and the kids were not with here. The Suburban will be in a shop for over a month now.

Getting in an accident really makes me think why I am willing to pay good money for a car. I know that there will probably be a time when I will get in an accident and damage my new 545i, but it is only metal and we buy good, safe cars to protect the ones we love.

The only bummer is Kim now has to drive a rental until the Suburban gets fixed. I can only thank God for protecting her, it could have been much worse.

I took pictures if anyone is interested. I will have them tonight.
I am glad your family is ok, the car can always be replaced.

You made the right choice with SMG. HUD is a must. IT helps you keep your eyes on the road and they do not wonder around as much if you didn't have it. ie. looking at the i-Drive for NAV, seeing how fast you are going, checking cruise control, warning messages.

That's the exact car that I am driving now. Same color/interior/options (minus the sat radio). I love this ride! I'm extremely happy with the SMG tranny. Like most I was worried about the upshifts at first, but I now have 1100 miles on it and am mastering the paddles . The shifting becomes extremely smooth once you figure out how to upshift. I've found that in order to get really smooth shifts it depends a LOT on how much pressure you are exerting on the gas pedal. If I am planning on driving it like any normal person (ie: not like dale earnheart) pressing lightly on the gas to maintain constant rpms or a slow increase (1000-3000) I can barely feel it shift. If you are driving a bit more aggressively(3000-4000rpm), letting offthe gas ever so slightly before the shift makes it smooth. If you are in one of those moods where you just wanna drive fast, taking it to at least 4500-6500rpm and burying your foot in it, the "jerkiness" is much much less but still there, but in all honesty, it feels damn good when it jerks a little and keeps pulling hard .
