When is BMW giving the free oil change? I think it's at 15k, 30K and 45K
I have 31K miles and the indicator says that it's due in 3,000 miles.
Please let me know if I need to wait for those 3k miles or if it's ok to be done now. Another thing the service advisor said the last oil change was done at 21k miles. I think BMW will still do it at 30K and I dont want to wait a couple of months and have to take the car back again just a for oil change , when it can be done now in the 30K miles service
Another thing I dont have the maintenance book. If anyone have a link to the manual in PDF please post the link

They should do it now. Had my car in several months ago for a software related recall and they did the oil withou even asking as I had passed my two year anniversary. I would think since you're past the 30K mark, they will do it despite the computer saying 3K to go. Might want to remind them just in case the don't show the initiative...

At 24K they did the first or second oil change?

In HK we only have 1 year warntee.
I say this many time in this forum if you what you engine to last longer try and change your oil at 7000 to 8000km.
never trust a computer.

Usually the dealer will change it if the car is in and it's "close" to the next scheduled service. I don't think they have to do it, it's generally something the dealer has the option of doing so your mileage may vary...

As Rudy stated, your dealer can make the decision prior to the actual requirement. Mine will do it 500 miles prior to stated change.

Well I have 31,000 miles now and the dealer didnt want to change the oil because it says 3000 miles before oil change. I guess maybe by Christmas time I should be able to change it

Here's a question, I know it has been discussed in some variations on this forum: My 2006 530xiT's (Sep. 2005 build) owner's manual says change the oil once a year, my SA denies that and says they only do it based on mileage (my computer is calling for the first oil change at 18,000 miles! - which I'm 6,000 miles short of - but the first anniversary is this Sunday 10/15). Anyone else have experience with this?
