That sounds like a very fair asking price for an '04 with those miles and options. If that's the asking, you can probably get it for 1-2k lower than that depending on how quick the seller needs to get rid of it. As far as a BMW estended warranty, you can purchase it as long as it is within the span of the manufacturers warranty. At 33k, you're well under the 50k mileage limit. Dending on the original sale date however, you may be outside of the time window.
There are some other decent after market warranty companies, but do you're homework on those first. The don't always cover the vitals, and several BMW dealerships will not work with some after-market companies for reimbursement.
