Hi Folks,

One of the renowned body shop screwed up my buddy's new 335i by not sealing the trunk properly after working on the rear end and parking it out in the rain.

After he dropped off his car at the dealer for misc things that were not working after they finished working on his car, which were working before, the dealer told him that the trunk had been soaked in water and the trunk seal is not put properly which evidently short circuit a lot of electronics that is back there.

He will talk to them tomorrow but incase they don't take responsibility we might need a good attorney, so if you know anyone who have used one before please send the contact.

Thanks in advance.......

Anyone???
1) I would google "san diego lemon law", that will give you some hits on lawyers who handle lemon law cases, and ask one of them if they can refer you to someone. My thinking is that the lemon law guys will not handle this type of case but they will know someone who does. Because the damages may be relatively small (in a lawyer's world), be prepared to pay hourly for his help, and if you prevail, you'll get some or all of it back. Obviously you can get any lawyer you want if you're paying by the hour, but you want one who is somewhat familiar with the issue and can get you some resolution within your budget.
2) You could also try getting help from the Bureau of Automotive Repair. They suggest complaining to the manager of the facility and then telling them you'll file a complain with the Bureau. If they are required to have a bond (ask the Bureau), you could submit a claim against the bond. http://www.autorepair.ca.gov/
