My take on Nav is its great if you are a traveling salesman and go to a lot of places and you don't know your way around town. For most people though, you will use it a few times but since they have a routine daily drive, it is not worth the extra $$$ unless you have the money burning a whole in your pocket. You can always call BMW Assist for live directions too.
On the other hand, I guess it will help the resale of your vehicle because it is a popular option and you do get a slightly larger screen.

Well some positive and some negative. DOes anyone know the good points about BMW NAV as compared to street pilot or other aftermarket NAV, as well as the negatives etc? The screen for idrive becomes bigger by how much?, and just how nice is it and is it quite easy to use etc? Thanks

Sorry I can't help, but will try to kick start your thread...and I wish I would have had my nav and HUD in Houston last week. Whew, that place is a nightmare!

If you can swing the cost, you should definetly get NAV and HUD. You will be surprised how many times you will use it. Its a very good system, has great features like: Information on any destination: restaurants, hotels etc. It will call them for you, or select as destination, and alot of other cool features.

Cool. Sounds like it is definitely worth getting. Do you have the BMW phone as well? How does that Blue Tooth stuff tie in with all of it?
