I would hope that the Nasca/ventilated seats are 20-way comfort seats as well, which would take some of the sting out of these priority one options. However, it is not clear from the pricing sheets.

Anyone have any further info?

I don't think so. It is like adding heated seats, and going from leatherette to leather.

Would be nice though.

So, if you want it all but have to decide between two different courses you can have:

(1) Dakota leather (no charge), cold weather package ($750), heated rear seats ($350), and comfort seats ($1,200) for a total of $2,300.

or

(2) Nasca leather ($1,850), comfort seats ($1,200), and ventilated seats ($1,025) for a total of $4,075.

If you go for option (2), you end up paying $1,775 more than option (1) [at retail pricing] and for that privilege lose your heated steering wheel, heated rear seats, and headlamp washing system.

I am seriously going to reconsider my options!

I've just done the math - twice. The MY05 545 price has gone down. Seriously.

The base price on the 05 545 is $55,800. The base price on the 04 545 was $55,000.

But to the 04, you need to add the now standard Lumbar (was $400 in 04) and PDC (was $700 in 04). If you add those two items, the "adjusted" 04 base price is $56,100, or $300 MORE than the 05.

BTW, all the 05 options are priced the same as in 04.

And before any of the jokes - yes, I am a CPA!!!

I am SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOoo pissed-off at BMWNA.

I got the pricing this morning and I am ticked-off!!

There is no f**king way in the world I would pay $4k for a set of chairs. No way no how!! The 545 is NOT a $70k MSRP car. No freaking way!! Man!!

My car is in status 112 and will probably jump to status 150 tomorrow. So here I am at at the 11th hours trying to reconfigure my car in a hurry!!

GD BMWNA!!

Exactly. 4K is way too much, that is why my dealer is checking with the 5 series advocate at BMW NA to find out what the deal is. I just went to www.bmw.ca for Canada and if you select ventilated seats it increases the price by $1,200 Canadian dollars. No comfort seats are required and the Nasca is no charge.

I hope my car is released Friday and I won't have to deal with this.
I'm dying to know if they do release your car. Keep us posted.

Tim C, did your dealer give you a date for release from the VPC?
