I took my car in for a second visit to try to fix to the airbag sensor. The last time they did a reprogram but the light came back on a week later. I also am getting some parts replaced on the brakes to try to address the hard pedal at start up, they are checking my bluetooth microphone because everyone says they can't hear me, and finally, they are going to drive it to check out the notchy feeling I sometimes get in parking lots due to my active steering. Thanks to everyone on these forums for letting me know that there are actually ways to fix these quirks!

Anyway, the SA told me "I think you're really going to like the loaner we have for you today..." It's only got 18 miles on it. Brand new 535. Very lightly optioned (premium, cold weather, nav) for $55k.

I don't have a lengthy review, but it is very very fast, yet in a different way than my 545. The sound and visceral feedback to me said "not as fast as the 545," but then I would look at the speedometer and be going 80. So, I know it is fast, I know it is responsive, but at the same time it doesn't really communicate it as well, in my opinion, as the V8. I just haven't learned the "language" of the twin turbo and we are having communication problems.

Overall, however, I am very impressed with it. It's much much more fun than the 528 loaner they gave me last time. I'm impressed that they would even have a 535 loaner. That has to be the nicest loaner they offer (at least to a guy in a CPO 5-series).

could you imagine taking in a $100k M6 for service and getting a KIA? that would drive me absolutely nuts. In my opinion, the loaner program and quality of service dept is a major reason I like driving a BMW as opposed to a Caddy CTS or something, where their "loaner" is a 70 year old guy in a van who will drive you w/in 15 miles of the dealership.

Pretty spot on of a review. Turned in my 545 for a 535. The 545 had more connected road feel and feed back, to the point of being brutal at times, but more sporting. The 545 engine was fun and had a narrower power peak band, but you felt it coming on the cam. The 535 has no noticable power peak so its power is deceiving.
Before the V8 guys pile on here; the V8 is as broad a powerband as you will find in a NA engine.
The 545 is a more visceral car than the 535, even vs. a 535 with the Dinan software.
