Ok, NOW I'm getting excited. My 530i has been built and is waiting for the boat ride now. I can't wait. Well, actually I can wait because of course, I must. I've got to find something to occupy the time. Maybe I'll polish the garage floor one more time . . .

Your timeline looks pretty good, you ordered 2 weeks ago and it is already waiting for the transport.
I ordered my 545i on 03/05/05, production 04/05/05, awaiting the transport since 04/07/05.

I'm hoping that I can take delivery some time in the next week or two. Right now I'm too focused on working out the particulars for the paint protection film to be excited about taking possession. Damn installers here want to rape you. I had one place quote me a "special" price of $895 and another place $1200. Star Shield will sell me a kit for $337, and the BMW OEM pieces are about $311. I think the people the dealer uses will tack on about $500 for install which is still highway robbery considering the costs I've seen people post on the forum. Anyone know a good film installer in the DC area?

I was fortunate in that I convinced the dealer to give me one of his allocated 'slots'. Got the production number when I ordered the car. So I was either lucky or I over paid java script:emoticon('
