I am picking up an ED 545 at the end of April. My dealer told me there is no way to lock in or to guarantee the lease deal (residual and money factor) until we go to contract (April 15th).

Do any of you know if this is correct? Is there a way to lock in a lease deal?

Any insight into coming changes in BMWFS lease rates for the 545 in the next couple of months? Do they change lease terms weekly, monthly, quarterly?

Right now my deal is based on a 60% residual with a .0016 lease factor, which seems fairly aggressive to me.

Thanks.

Yes you can. I understand its 60 days lock. If your dealer is un willing to do so then cancel your order w/ him and goto another dealer w/ your production number  and BTW, I never told you this.

Right, if they won't honor the deal, walk away. The thing is, even if MF goes up or something, they can make the deal happen on original terms if they are willing to cut into their profit.

By the end of Jan. 05, I told my salesman to lock me into Jan.'s rate since they were better then Dec.'s and I was scared that they would go up in Feb. He had me fill out a credit application and he locked in the rates for Jan. for 60 days. My car is due early March, so I am covered till the end of March. I locked it in for:

530i
36 mo/15k mi – 60% Residual Value – Money Factor .00125 Base Rate

I've included an excel spreadsheet with the rates from Nov. 04 for you to compare.

Leonard.

Agreed....there is a 60 day lock that protects you from an increase....if your sales rep looks out for you and rates drop, they will cover you as well...happened to me and I got benefit opf deal while waiting for my car to arrive on boat after I negotiated original deal.
