Car in for service and software update today/tomorrow

Nasty dealer gave me a brand-new 750i loaner!!!!!

wow...this puppy is the dogs!

shame it only does 14mpg!!!

it could even make me cancel the M3 !!

not a safe or sensible investment though...residual value % must be spectacularly bad on a fully loaded one of these!

Wow nice dealership!!... Over here they give crappy X3's or low-end 3 series as loaners.

The new 7 is incomparable if you need to haul people or just want to 'hang around' and don't care about easy parking or twisty roads. The rear seat experience is awesome on the Li. If I had money for a stable of cars one of them would be an alpine-white 760Li with 22" bright silver wheels - MAD spokes.

had a while to play with it now

the idrive setup in the 7 is crap compared to the 5, 5 is much more intuitive

auto parking brake is great...tv picture pops up whenever you stop in traffic

dont like the auto shifter on the steering column

steptronic buttons on the wheel are really really nice

wood is not particularly great quality and far too much plastic abounds everywhere

seats...sport/comfort/active/heated...nice but expensive

that 4.8 v8...........stunning, just stunning.........the 550 will be FANTASTIC

If the difference between the 745 and 750 is the same as the difference between the 545 and 550 then all you 545 owners out there will want...no, NEED!!!! to upgrade......its just not an economic proposition for me with gas at $8 a gallon here

voice control....I'm booking mine in for the upgrade.....its quirky but fun!

all opinions are mine (and I say what I like and like what I say)

DD, I think BMW stopped retrofitting VR after the fiasco with my car. it took 6 weeks nad a guy from Bracknell had to come in and code the car in the end..

If they will do it though, check the original brochure. Mine stated it was supposed to be standard, so the retrofit was free. Part was only about 30 pounds, which I got from Holland as it was in back order in the UK.

Usually I'm getting a Mini One as a loaner. This time I had to go to Copenhagen with some customers. I told my dealer it wouldn't be appropriate to put them in the back seat of a Mini. They gave me a 320i Touring, not good, but OK. My car has been at the dealer too much now starting to get pissed...

I've got a 530d loaner now. It is the most basic one available. No nav etc. How can you guys stand that thin steering wheel? It drives fine, but man, does it feel cheap.

last time I was in they offered me a 330d but I would have to wait half an hour or so or a Mini One which I could take right away. I went for the Mini. What a great little car it was, net very fast and a bit coarse but great fun to drive all the same.
