lease return wheels and tires
#1
Hey guys,
My lease is up on my 545i in a few months. Right now, I've got aftermarket 17" rims and snow tires on it. Am I going to get penalized for returning
it with those wheels and tires? Or do I need to put my runflats and stock 18"s back on. The only problem with that my rear runflats are down to the wires Front ones are great, but I'll need to get some new rear ones.

I THINK you have to return the vehicle to it's original purchased/leased form. Might want to check and see if any members are selling a set of wheels and tires at a fair price. The dealer will defintely hit you for the rft replacement. Good luck, what's your next vehicle going to be....

I think the aftermarket rims will have to be taken off but as far as having runflats or regular tires on the car, your mileage may vary. It seems that some dealers say you need to return it with runflats and some say you don't. I don't know what country you're in (or what car you have) but I'm thinking that if the car has a spare, you might have a better chance of using non-runflats (some countries or models don't come with a spare.)
Also, since only your rear tires have low tread, it may be cheaper to just buy two runflats to match the fronts.

Too many leasees are hot to sign a lease and drive off in an expensive car that "seems inexpensive" (paying by the month) ... only to get an unpleasant surprise when lease termination time rolls around.
