My Ride: 2007 550i..... ex
So my lease is up in less than 2 months and I'm looking to get my tires replaced on my own (as opposed to getting charged a zillion bucks from the dealership). I'm going to replace my front tires (245/40/18) with BMW OEM run flats but the rears (275/35/18) will be replaced with none-run flats. Just wanted to check to make sure that's okay. It's like if I got aftermarket brake pads or aftermarket foglight blubs, I'm thinking it should be fine. Tell me it's fine.

I wish I could tell you it's fine but unfortunately, the answer is "it may be fine"...
It seems that some dealers (or inspectors) are a bit more "picky" about these kinds of things and there's no specific formula that we can use to advise you.

Depends on who's inspecting your car that day. AFAIK lease returns involve returning the vehicle to it's original state at time of drive off. That's where the individual interpretation comes in...

when i returned my audi i got slapped with a huge payment after.. tires@! curbage!! one ding!!!they wanted to replace 2 wheels! all four tires! ugh.. i was so mad.. i woulda bought them myself, but hub said dont.. now look.. get what you had.. equal quality or better.. any body problems.. fix em yourself.. cheaper!
Good God that sucks. The dealership can easily repair a minor curbage/ding with outside contractors.
Thanks Rudy!
Keep an eye out in the classifieds soon for parts for sale
