My long ED re-delivery wait will come to an end at 1pm EDT today! Of course, it's raining and gross out, but I won't let that spoil my fun!

I'll post some pictures after I get it.

Yippee! That's great news!!

Man, I'm betting the wait after ED is the worst -- you wait for ED to happen, get a taste of things during ED, then you have to wait again after having the taste.

At least my six month wait between order and delivery was just that -- a wait. Once I got the car, I couldn't imagine having to part with it again to wait some more!

You got that right. The wait for re-delivery is pure torture. At least waiting for the trip had a definite "D-day" so to speak. The wait for redelivery is so much more difficult because you don't know what "D-day" is until it's there.

My guess is we won't be hearing from MrBelk for the rest of the afternoon...

You guessed wrong. I have to support the deployment of a project to a client-server, so I'm back in the office. It was a nice long drive back from the dealership, though.

I am reminded how AWESOME the car is. Silver Grey is a beautiful color in bright sunshine, and the Style 124 wheels with the monster tires really fill out the wheel-wells.

Of course, it rained right as the guy was coming back from filling it up, so the car got sprayed with dusty road mist on the way back, so it's a little dirty, but it's a good excuse to give it a good washing.

My only complaint is the same one as before; the damn clutch delay valve. Clutch engagement and take-up is way too soft, so I'm going to have a local Dinan mechanic remove and/or replace it with a free-er one.

The wait was torture, but now that it's over, it's just water under the bridge. Absence does truly make the heart grow fonder.

I wonder if I will be such a head-case when we do ED on my wifes X3 next spring? I hope so. The day I'm not excited about getting a new bimmer is the day that I will leave the marque.

The delivery happened so fast, and since it was raining, I didn't bring my camera. If it's nice tomorrow, or when I get home, I'll take some shots. It's already a little dirty from the nice dirty mist from the drive back to the office.

If you're hankering to see some pics of the car in a more "natural" setting, just go to www.thebelkfamily.net/travel and look at the pics from my ED trip. There are some real good shots of the car in its natural habitat: Southern Bavaria.

No telling. I wrote it myself, and don't do anything with cookies. It's possible that IIS does it automatically, but I'm not doing anything with them.
