hi i was wondering if u guys know how much insurence would cost for a e46 e39 or a e60 5series or a is 250/350 insurence would cost for my cousin who is gonna be getting his liceens next year and his family was wondering how much it would cost for it he's a average student but does alot for his family so they wanted to get him somethin nice so if u could let me know i would appreshate it oh and he is 17

It would depend on where you live. But from what I've seen with BMWs is that it's pretty cheap. The only exception is the E60 due to the heavy use of aluminium up front. Aluminium is more expensive to fix in a collision.

I pay $10 more a month for my 06e60 compare to my 99e39 - $695 every 6 months for both cars in Texas, have no idea about e46s. Texas rates are a bit higher than the rest of the nation.

FYI, e60s rates are higher since the car costs more to fix compare to its predecessors. I have heard that Aluminum front-ends must be replaced if they are bent more than certain spec. where a steal frame can be fixed (pulled). Also, working on Aluminum frames requires new equipment and training for the crew which not all shops can afford, therefore reducing the number of qualified shops.
