The guy at the dealer told me that the configuration for my new 525 is about the same as a 530 2004 in term of power....is that true?
Close.... the 2004/5 530i was 225hp versus 214hp for the 2006 525i.

As you probably know, the new 525i uses the same basic 3.0L engine that's in the new 530i. Germancarfans.com has an excellent 12-page article on the new engine, including photos of the manufacturing process.

Enjoy the new wheels, Martin

You will enjoy the car.

I have a 545, and once when my car was at the dealer, I was given a 525 w/ sports. I was amazed at the handling of the 525. The car was lighter than my 545, so I was able to really push it around the corners. It didn't hurt it wasn't mine, so I wasn't concerned with the tire wear and hard pushing.

So it does not have one? It should be next to your ignition key.

Is that really true about the push button start/stop for '06? I thought it was available on the 3 Series. That's cool if it's available in the '06 E60's.

Amigo:

My car has been showing the same "scheduled for production" for 2 weeks now. Yesterday I called the BMW-NA 800 number and gave them my production number. They verbally told me the car came off the assembly line on Thursday, went through QC and was now awaiting the boat. The BMW site does seem to be behind so if you want the most recent info/status, call BMW and just ask them where the car is.
