My Ride: 2006 Silver Grey 550i (est delivery 12/06)
Auburn / Poplar Interior / Anthracite headliner
M body aero kit/ sport/ sound/ comfort access/ comfort seats/ sunshade/ sat radio
I had to turn in my 03 Jetta deisel off lease today but my 550 is still about a week to 10 days from being ready so the dealer said no problem, we'll give you a loaner to drive around in. I drove the 2 hours down to Daytona with my 3 year old in tow......turned the car in no problems and waited for the loaner. He said it would probably be a 3 series, but there were two of the older body style 525s in the lot. Well, the manager came out and said we'll put you in a 5 series and I assumed it would be one of the older 525s but he drives a 2006 530i off the showroom floor and pops a plate on it and says its mine
I couldn't believe it. I had so much fun driving that car back home! great passing power on those 2 lane roads. Can't even imagine 550 power. Just wanted to share that amazing story with my fellow e60 brothers.
BTW They were delivering an M5 while I was there. The guy was about 70 years old. Pretty sweet!

Lucky for you and that 70 year old guy!
I don't think I would trade places with the 70 yo.. haha I don't mind being 24. I have more time on my hands to pick up an M. haha
BTW Congrats on the loaner. I serviced my car and got a mazda6. It was a four banger with enough power. Just wasn't the same without four more cylinders. Not a huge fan of servicing a near 70K vehicle and getting a 17K one in return. Oh well, it is what it is.
