uk dealers are charging about ?70 - ?80 an hour for them to have the privilege of working at your car .Bring it to a normal garage that does mechanics , this does not need to be a dealer job , they will rip you off .

Brake fluid flushes are free in the US when the car is under warranty. Check with your dealer and see if it is the same case in UK.

It isnt we don't get the same level as service as you guys in the US.

When I had my brake fluid done in March it was ?90 but that was part of a package where I bought the pollen filters, brake fluid change and an oil change at the same time. The total cost was ?330 and that was after phoning different dealers and getting my normal one to match the price.

Let me ask you this. Since BMW does not pay for maintenance in the UK, do they recommend more frequent maintenance than in the US? I mean, do they still recommend oil changes at 15K miles, spark plugs and tranny fluid at 100K miles, etc.?

As far as im aware theres no difference in when service items are called up, my oil service came up at 14k miles and the brake fluid change was two years etc. BMW sell maintenance packages over here on top of the price of the car if you buy it new but they dont work out cheaper unless you do sky high mileage they just really spread the cost of maintenance and quite often work out dearer because they rely on people buying them to spread the cost. Even then you still have to pay for things like top up oil and stuff.
