If you do a regular maintenance...how long does a 5 series BMW will last with regular maintenance? Assuming avoid any major surgery on the BMW...I want to see how long does it last without using a lot of $$$! What mileages can get out of this thing?

I plan not to sell this car because it is a memory of me and my parents.

I have 2004 525i with 57K and Extended Warranty (up to 100k miles)

We had a guy in for service with a 2000 528 with 264,000 miles and it was in perfect shape. Properly maintained, these cars can last a lifetime. Literally.

Ever since BMW came up with their F'ed service schedual, people seem to have forgotten the term "preventative maintenance" ... 13k oil service interals are crazy, and spark plugs at 100k is insanely delayed.

Once I get me E46 M3, I'm doing oil changes every 5k miles along with oil filter. Airfilter change every 10k miles. VANOS oil change every 10k miles. Tranny/differential flush every 30k miles. Fuel filter at 50k miles. Tranny and diff mounts at 50k. Tune up/valve timing at 60k miles. Spark plugs at 60k. Replace coolant expansion tank at 70k.

The BMW cars are built solid and will last very long IF the car recieves preventative maintenance.

EDIT: Brake fluid flush every 25k

Bought my 1995 525 it ten years ago with 150000 miles on it. Now has over 300000 miles. Keep the oil changed.
