I actually did an experiment a few years back when I was looking at buying a new car (Lexus - had to start somewhere). I walked in to the dealership in shorts, flops and a t-shirt and got blown off. When I did finally get to talk to someone, I was treated very poorly and dismissed like a no-sale. I went back to the same dealership the next day wearing slacks, a button down, beautiful oxfords and a fresh shave. I was immediately picked up by the sales manager and given the opportunity to drive whatever I wanted. I took advantage of this and sat in/drove everything he had on the lot. Even made him prep a car just off the carrier. At the end of this very exhausting 3 or 4 hours, I said thankyou very much and told him I'd be going elsewhere. It was the same guy both days. I told him my experience and left him begging like a puppy.
My father-in-law did the same thing. He is worth plenty, but had just left a golf tournament in August, in Houston, Texas. It was about 98 degrees outside and he had been out there for about 6 hours. He took a friend with him, and they both went to the Mercedes dealership. He asked a salesman what the S stood for in front of the S500. The dealer just looked at him and said "'spensive". So he said "Okay, I'll take one. And my buddy here wants one too. Also, I need one of those two seaters for my wife." The salesman laughed and walked away, thinking it was a joke. Shortly thereafter, they went to the managers office and explained the situation. The manager was nice enough to write up all three vehicles. My father-in-law smiled and waved to the salesman as he wrote the check for the cars.

Dude, what mileage did your Dunlops have? If you have the Runflats and were under in mileage you could have had BMW replace for free. Just got back from dealership where they ordered my second set for FREE.....

I'm pretty sure that was just a 545 sport package deal, maybe 550 also.
