I found a place to host the color/upholstery/trim charts images since there seemed to be some problems when I tried to send them to das last week.

Yeah, I'm gonna try and see if I can coax a dealer to get me truffle brown interior for my european delivery 530i. It's certainly a favor they will do for VIP's. Fred Opert Racing once told me it was doable, but he probably got heat from BMW and will no longer play that. I was told that you just pay a little extra $$$, and they make a "mistake" on the order form. Come on BMWNA goon who decides U.S. interior color choices ... that light beige is a soil magnet! You almost need to require your passengers to wear shoe protectors, or not wear shoes altogether.

I was able to order a cloth/velour interior for my 97 528i Euro Delivery (for free). But since then BMW NA decided that even if they except some special order colors or upholstry on some cars, they will not accept ANY Euro Delivery cars with special requests. For a while after that my salesman would work around that by ordering special color/upholstry cars from the dealer's allocation and then once the production status of the car went beyond the point of color changes he would swith the car from the dealer's allocation to Euro Delivery. He got away with doing it that way for a while and finally BMW NA figured out what was going on and stopped it from happening. He now says that the system will not allow a switch like that and therefore BMW NA will not let Euro Delivery cars be anything but standard options. However, this does not mean that BMW NA may not change this policy (they do go in cycles as fas as special orders are concerned).

When are you going to order/pickup your E60. If you are able to get the Truffle Brown Interior please let me know how you went about it by posting a message on this board. I am also interested in ordering the Truffle Brown if they will let me.

Has anyone in the US had any luck with ordering (or finding on a dealer lot) E60's with other than beige(will show way too many marks), grey(kinda yucky, IMO), or black(too hot inside?) leather interier? I like the darker brown (truffle?) - Seems like it would go with the poplar and Oxford green outside (which I like just cause I'm bored looking at all the silver/grey cars)

According to my E60 brochure, if you don't like black, gray, or beige, you're left with auburn. It's kind of a reddish brown.

I don't see a truffle brown in the USA brochure (there may be an updated version).
