You can't stay away from the E60. Come back. You know you want too.
But I'd wait for the perfect deal on a M5 if I were you. Otherwise, you'd be in the 535i regretting you didn't wait for the M5. Then there will be another thread like this one.

Mark -
I have to drive by that dealership every single day. Its like a big candy store ! You have to resist its siren song.
The new 530 is very nice...300hp with a stick ! But I think your X5 will hold its value over the winter and you can revisit the new car idea in the spring.
Plus - do you know how hard it is to keep a black car clean in the new england winters ???

While I would much rather be driving a 535 than an X5, the only thing that would give me pause is that I would expect that you would take a total financial bath if you trade in your four month old X5. We are talking a big time depreciation hit. I could see you dealer giving you a good deal on the purchase of the 2010 535 but I would think that you'd get killed on your trade in of the X5. But maybe they are red hot in the CPO market. I don't know because I don't follow the X5 market.

If you are looking to get rid of the X5, you will have absolutely NO trouble. We can barely keep them in stock and are even buying exec models with mileage at invoice to try and keep up with demand. One thing I am surprised you didn't consider is the X6. If you can deal with 4 passenger seating, it really is an incredible vahicle. I have yet to take anyone for a test drive where they didn't say wow afterwards.
