Hello everyone.

I went to pick up the X today after having an oil change done. I drive around the lot and this is what I see...two 2010 535 6spd that the dealer just got in. They both have the M sport package. I joked around with the salesman that I usually deal about getting rid of the X that I bought just 4 short months ago. He called me this evening and said that he can give me a good deal if I was serious. He stated between $57500-$58K would be the number. Ah boy...

I'm not going to lie to you, I almost regret buying the X since I miss driving a car so much. One of the reasons I bought the X was having the option of a bigger car since we now have 2 children. The other reason was I could not find a 6spd 535 and convinced myself to not get another "auto" E60 unless it was an SMG M5. I cannot think rationally at this point. One minute I'm thinking screw the X and get on this deal then the next minute I'm thinking that I should wait hold on to the X and wait until the F10 comes out or when my perfect M5 deal comes along.

What the F?!?!

You can't stay away from the E60. Come back. You know you want too.

But I'd wait for the perfect deal on a M5 if I were you. Otherwise, you'd be in the 535i regretting you didn't wait for the M5. Then there will be another thread like this one.

While I would much rather be driving a 535 than an X5, the only thing that would give me pause is that I would expect that you would take a total financial bath if you trade in your four month old X5. We are talking a big time depreciation hit. I could see you dealer giving you a good deal on the purchase of the 2010 535 but I would think that you'd get killed on your trade in of the X5. But maybe they are red hot in the CPO market. I don't know because I don't follow the X5 market.

This reminds me of what a guy goes through trying to decide whether to cheat on his wife with a really hot stripper in Vegas... not that I'd know what one would think in such a situation or anything

the F10 is just about to drop, if you want an M5 new, you're already too late as you can no longer order one, so if you really want the best NA engine that M may ever build, go out and find an M5 today, they will only become more scarce as time goes by...and dont worry, it'll still be ~2 years until any F10 M5 makes it to our shores
