Seems like there's some kind of problem with the suspension of that wheel, which led to both - the cracked rim and the uneven wear. Or, it could be that there was a big pothole that that wheel hit (more likely than not, waaaaaaay before you've ever laid your eyes on this car, don't worry), the crack was minimal and didn't loose any pressure at first, but deteriorated over time. Because the pothole was probably big enough to throw alignment, it - naturally and quite probably - also wore off the tire unevenly.

Check the service records and see if the front wheel on that side has ever been replaced - its hard (though not unheard of) to hit a pothole with only a back wheel so hard that it would crack and the front one would be untouched

If not, I'll have to start with some pressure and show them I mean business and I'm willing to take this much further if need be.
At this point, you should consider having a trusted indie mech look at the car, also...

I wouldn't expect them to play nice - they already took you, now they'll be playing switching games on you and basically milking you every chance they get. Its despicable, but that's what some dealers do. Like I said before, I personally consider such actions criminal, because they are violating your trust and manipulating the situation to make you pay for repairs you should've never even had to know and/or worry about.

when they deliever CPO car, everything has to be perfect and they have to check ....

if you go to bmwusa.com they have a huge list of check list...

Rotors and break pad has to be checked, wheels and tires must be checked properly, key needs to be checked. basically everything that you are having problem with, they were supposed to fix it.

Check carfax and see if there was any accident because there shouldnt be any accident ..

Basically you need to tell them basically they did not even checked the whole car properly before delivery, which does not meet the BMW standard before delivery. also it really shouldnt take that long to make a deliver a car especially if it was already CPO certified....

it took me 4 hrs to get mine delivered... so basically tell them to stop that crap. Get it fix and make it perfect or tell them you will basically go against them and report them to BMW NA

Just a little update...after numerous meetings and discussions...

They took thecar in and they're putting on a new rim with tire with balancing on all 4 wheels, addressing all my concerns, having the car fully detailed with wet sanding and multi stage polishing, fixing the loose front bumper and running the full 87 point CPO inspection again. They provided me with a 550 loaner as well.

I ran the Carfax and there's only one owner before me (original buyer) and no reports at all!

I feel very relieved and look forward to taking delivery of this car again and turning this into the great experience it should of been from the start.

I have to admit...dealing with the general manager, his attitude and approach were what I expected from BMW...professional, helpful and accomodating!

I consider this a happy ending!

Sorry to hear about your experience. I had sometime similar to yours except mine were mainly annoying things like squeaky breaks, interior etc.

But like others have said, you gotta stand up straight to those damn dealers. I don't give a rats ass if they made any money on you, YOU BOUGHT A CPO CAR! Which means it should be as close to new as possible, thats why its certified. If you wanted all these problems, you could have bought one from an auction or private party and saved yourself 3 - 5 grand.

I got lucky with my SA, he was cool and I still keep in touch with him from time to time.

*edit*

just read your most recent post. Good deal. Keep it cool with your SA (haha funny sentence for those in the "hood" LOL). They'll take care of you.

I consider this a happy ending for you but not us on the dealership level. As others have said, the point that both they and you rushed the delivery was certainly at fault but the resulting problems should be theirs, not yours. Situations like these make it difficult for honest CAs like me. When people come in skeptical, and in your case, rightfully so, it just makes it harder on all of us. In the long run, shoddy customer service hurts us salespeople as much, if not more, then the customer. I am really glad that the issue was resolved. Enjoy your car. Speaking on behalf of the 550i owners on these boards and as someone who is now in my second 550, it's great to hear that you're happy.

Glad to hear it worked out for you. But next time, consider a different dealer for your service needs.

+1.

It does sound like the dealer has bad first instincts, i.e., f*ck the customer instead of helping the customer.
