Hey Everyone-

So often we hear all of the aweful stories about dealers that don't take care of their customers... well I thought that I would pass along that New Century BMW in Alhambra, CA has always done a awesome job of servicing my E60. If you take your car in for service, definitely ask for Paulo. This guy knows his stuff, I have been taking my car to him for the past two years and the great thing is that he used to be a tech in the service department and has worked on all of the BMW models. If you have an issue, he most likely knows what the fix is and he takes the time to make sure you are updated and gets the work done quickly.

Most of the time I would receive a 335i as a loaner, which was fine but I asked him to set me up with a 535i so I could check it out. Not a problem... he gave me a Space Grey '09 fully loaded. What a nice car! Don't get me wrong, I love my '05 530i since it has a bunch of mods, but I sure could get use to a new 535.

This time in I had a constant squeak coming from one of the engine pulley's... he listened to it and said ya it sounds like a bearing. So since I have an extended service contract, I asked to have the front brakes replaced even though the car stated I had 1500 miles to go, my remote has not been working from more than 2 feet away from the car and he did the oil service even though I had another 2k miles to go.

So, he replaced the front brakes & rotors, replaced the antenna amp, changed the oil and changed the windshield wipers... oh and the squeak was the altenator bearing going bad so the altenator was replaced and there was a service bulletin on my car for the ideler pulley, mine was mechanical (spring Tention) and he had it replaced with the new hydrolic tentioner!

I don't get anything for promoting Paulo or this dealer, I just believe that you should give a thumbs up to people when they do a great job! If you call for service, just ask for Paulo and tell him that Bill recomended him.

Have a great rest of the week!
Bill

Bill,

Thanks for sharing your positive experience about dealer service. I feel that most people don't take the time you did to describe quality service - sometimes taking it for granted! Be sure to complete the customer survey - my dealer sends one after every visit. And, it doesn't hurt to tell the SA that you felt valued as a customer .. or even send a thank you card.

Trust me - the next time you have a conflict they will remember how you treated them. In the future it may help you get over a speed-bump if you have a special problem --- like an out of warranty issue

Thanks for the input. I always take care of my SA, if he does a good job I send a thank you card, but if he does a great job I send an e-mail to his boss and the owner of the dealership to recognize him and I also bring in a gift card of some sort for my SA and he ALWAYS remembers me and ALWAYS takes care of me.

It's like you said, it's the little things that make a BIG difference. Treat people the way you would like to be treated and it will go a long way!

I didn't buy my car there and have a great experience. I think your ultimate experience and feeling about how you have been treated as a customer is fully depentant on how your SA performs for you. Trust me, see Paulo next time.

Ya, I know what you mean. I went there for a part once and that was less than enjoyable. Never went back!
