I'm looking to buy a 2005 545i.

Dealer is asking $36k, CPO. What do you think is a good offer?
Black/Black
HUD
CWP - Cold Weather Package
Sport
Nav
Heated Rear Seats and Fold Down
PDC - Park Distance
31k miles
Previous leased vehicle, bought and maintained at the same dealer.

Also another car I'm looking at is a 2006 550i for $38.9 CPO. No Nav, No HUD, No Fold Down Seats.

What would you do?

get the '05 for $33k or $34k. That would be a good deal for a CPO w/Nav and sport pkgs.

When I bought mine a year ago (also CPO and also a lease turn in), the BMW dealer came down about $2500 from their internet price.

Theres an 05 545i in black CPO nearme with 40k miles for 28k. BMW wide world of cars. 40k is a few too many miles for me but I think you can get them down to at least 33k on this.

I'd take the 545i w/ all the options and they'd go down to $34k easily. I'd start with a $32k offer and go from there.

There price is high on the 545i.

There going at auction between 24K and 27K give or take alittle for mileage and condition. CPO adds a good 3K to the value and then you got the dealer needs to make money thing to throw in. So in the end I won't pay more then 32.5K for an 05 545i CPO. A real solid fair price would be about 30.5 to 31.5K for that car.

Do search on BMWNA.com and see what comes up around the country. Remember options don't add thousands to prices so if one has a Nav and one doesn't you only talking maybe $500. Sport package at best only adds about 1K to value of the used car. So don't get to wrapped up in $$$$$ for the car vs options the car has.

I just bought an 05 545i with 17k miles (one year left on factory warranty), non CPO, sport, upgraded stereo, 6 speed, black on black, nav, parking sensors, fully loaded for $32K. I realize it's not CPO and all but for 17k miles and an extended warranty from my BMW dealer for $2,500, I think I got a good deal. I think the one you are looking at should sell for$32-$33k.

Good luck!

The dealer bought that 545i for 23.5 to 26K MAX at a wholesaler's auction, and if it was traded in, may have paid even less. I would offer them ~26 or 27K at most. Having the CPO is not worth adding even 7K to purchase price, much less 10 large!
'06 550i's are going for high 20's to very low 30's at auction, so if you're serious about a specific car, I would negotiate up from there and offering $31-32K at the high end.
On a side not, I have fun tracking cars as they go from auction to autotrader and cars.com. These units are usually marked up $7-10K as they make the trip from Manheim to dealer's lots.

How do you track them from one place to the next? Online?

No way they go below $30k in my opinion. If he can get a 05 545i with all those options and CPOed for under $30k I might have a heart attack and will be very jealous.
