Rudy: Thanks, man! I can't wait to try your stop-navigating hint...sounds pretty easy.

Sam,

Best pics ever! It's really nice to see some 545 specific pics like the steering wheel. I was considering replacing the shifter knob with the wooden one because of lack of metal trim in cabin. I heard about the wheel in the 545 but it is really nice to see a picture. If I could trouble you with a request and a couple of questions.

Request pic of that beautiful V-8 please!

1. Thoughts and feeling of 545 ride and handling without the sport package?

2. Are those tailpipe tips bigger on a 545 than the 530? Anyone? Duals would have been nice

Thanks for the pictures!

Rob
Not Sam, but I can confirm that the 545 exhaust tips are wider and rounder than the 525/530 tips.

Can't comment on the non-SP ride/handling, but I can say that the 545/6sp (which has the SP included as a mandatory option) handles and rides unbelievably well. The AFS/ARS combination is totally transparent, which is a good thing.

I got the wood/leather 6sp shift knob at the BMW Niederlassung in Munich when I was there for my ED experience a couple of weeks ago and think that getting rid of that ugly matte-chrome shift-knob will be a huge improvement in the interior.

Now all I have to find are pieces (wood or black) to replace the matte-chrome inserts in the steering wheel.

MrB,

But then you will need a wooden iDrive knob too!

Re Tail Pipes - for UK buyers, all the tails pipes on the petrol engines (and Euro IV complaint diesels) are the same size (from the looks of it as per the 545 posted here). The chrome tip is considerably longer and wider than previous series 3 and 5's.
