Rudy,

Thanks for the tips!

And yeah, I've been using the search function a lot and reading the various FAQs. Just abusing my position, as it were, that's all.

And yes, I'm sure I don't want SMG, or rather, that I really do want a conventional manual.

Now, all that's left is the waiting!

If you calculate your wait time back to your join date, you clearly win the prize for the one who waited the longest....

Looks my two cents worth is too late, but on top of the PDC I would definitely add Active Steering (?not sure if available on all wheel drive E60's?). Of all the features I've not had in prior cars, this is the one I love the most on my new E60!!

Oh Yeah as EBMCS03 and I know, the best interior color on Silver Gray is Auburn!!

Congrats on your wedding first and on your new car...
Specs are great but PDC in my opinion is a must. I would prefer Titanium Grey it looks great on E60.

You've got to be joking. The only execise I'm getting lately is parking the E60 further from the kerb. I arrived in Madison at about 16:30 and the guys were at it for over nine hours. With at least another 5-6 hours to go. A 2.3 mile swim, 26 mile marathon and a 112 mile bike ride. I wouldn't even do that in a car. Poor bas%$rds.

Congratulations das on your marriage and your E60!!!

I am glad you ended up getting the PDC. Even if I had to pay for it on the 545i it would have paid for itself many times over by now. One time I almost ran into a steel pole in a parking lot while backing up. It was a bumper height pole and I had not seen it but the PDC started to yell at me and I stopped just in time. Another time I almost ran into my wife's X5 while backing out of the garage (kids had me distracted ).....so it's well worth it.

There is one thing that makes a Silver Gray car look amazing, and that's the M Kit....I highly recommend it on a Silver Gray car. Do a search for ch7656's 545 (or ex-545 now) and find his pictures to see what I mean.

A big thank you from member #63.....You provided a sane place to host all info regarding the E60 back in the early pre-E60.net days away from the idiots and their insults on Roadfly. There was a lot of info right from the beginning but the forum was not very active yet, that is the reason many of us also visited Roadfly back then. But after the "mass exodus" from Roadfly (thanks to Rudy) this site became more active and E60.net was born....thanks again to you and Mark.

Thanks for tossing in your two cents, guys.

A couple points: Active Steering is not available on the xi models, so I didn't have a choice. The M Aero kit is only currently available from the factory on the 550i in the US, but that's something I may add later myself anyway along with Style 166 wheels. I've always liked the stock M look.

I'm very happy with my purchase, and based on some quick calculations, the 550i I would have wanted would be over $10K more as configured, and I lose AWD...something I am not willing to do; I want to be able to drive it every day, and feel comfortable doing it, regardless of the weather. And 255hp should be more than enough for me (especially considering I'm coming from a car that has 190hp and is only 100 lbs lighter).

Plus, I got every option I wanted and didn't have to sacrifice anything...with a 550i I'd always feel bad about spending way more money that I can justify to myself at this point in my life. I have to say that it was exclusively the US introduction of the xi models that made me go for this. The addition of AWD makes me happy with the 530 vs 550 decision.

Ok, just found out that it's scheduled for Week 40 production (first week of October)...

This wait is going to be hell...

Congrats on your marriage and purchase of 530! I like the options you are getting, they are all essential.

Btw, nice pictures.
Good luck!
